Description Dean Nelson 2009-07-28 14:57:28 UTC
Description of problem:

PCI drivers that implement the struct pci_error_handlers' error_detected
callback should return PCI_ERS_RESULT_DISCONNECT if the state passed in is
pci_channel_io_perm_failure. The e100 driver does not do this.

Additional info:

The solution will be to backport an upstream commit authored by
Andre Detsch <adetsch.com>. See the following URL for details.

Comment 1 Dean Nelson 2009-07-31 21:45:35 UTC
My test kernel rpms have been updated to include a patch for this bugzilla.

http://people.redhat.com/dnelson/#rhel5

Please test them and report back your results. Without immediate feedback
there is a good chance this or any other fix for this driver will not be
included in the upcoming update.
