Can I have your kernel log too please (even after booting into runlevel 3 would be fine). If this is what I'm expecting, it should be fixed already if you update to the latest rawhide kernel. Created attachment 358773 [details]

It is included in the rawhide boot.iso from today (20090826). Yeah, I gave it a try with vmlinuz & initrd.img from 20080826 rawhide mash and the problem was gone!
