Comment 3 Rudolf Kastl 2009-09-26 17:39:20 UTC
yum install compizconfig-backend-gconf

fixed it for me.

just curious if that shouldnt be a default dependency if it is beeing used by default.

Comment 4 Robert Laverick 2009-09-26 19:22:37 UTC
No, that hasn't resolved it for me,

the way I'm crashing it is using the desktop effects Preferences window, disabling compiz causes the crash, crash during exit it seems.

I've installed the compizconfig-backend-gconf now, tho that hasn't resolved the issue.

Sorry about the +1 but that was abrt's doing.

Comment 5 Matěj Cepl 2009-09-29 15:09:41 UTC
This is very incomplete backtrace. Closing as INSUFFICIENT_DATA

Comment 7 Mike Wolf 2009-10-02 22:41:02 UTC
Matej,

Isn't it customary to ask for more information before closing a bug as "INSUFFICIENT_DATA"? Rudolf reported the bug with the default reporting tool -- abrt. Two more people have reported the same bug (albeit abrt does this stupid "+1" bit), so it's not a fluke.

Information on my machine:

Dell Dimension B110
Celeron 2.53GHz
Intel 865G integrated graphics.

I can duplicate the bug the same way Robert did in Comment #4.

If you want more info, please ask for it. Also, please reopen this bug.

Thanks,

Mike

(In reply to comment #7)
I added the rawhide debug repo and went through installing a load of debug packages for various things I thought might be relevant and managed to get a better backtrace that abrt reported as a different bug 526593. Might be worth using that one rather than try and get this re-opened since the op said he resolved it with a package install, maybe that was a different bug?

also if you've got anything that isn't in my abrt trace, maybe you can copy paste something out of abrt if it's not being helpful?

Rob

reopening that bug on behalf of other users that are willing to provide eventually missing information (see comments). Sorry Matej i initially wanted to just try out abrt (i guess debuginfofs is supposed to automate the debuginfo availability in case of a backtrace in the future). If you think it should be closed again anyways just go ahead and close it again.

This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 12 development cycle.
Changing version to '12'.

Comment 16 Matěj Cepl 2009-11-17 12:02:36 UTC
Switching incorrect assignees to the default one.

Comment 17 Hamidou Dia 2009-11-20 18:47:07 UTC
Hi all,

Don't worry, we already have a meaningful traceback, so that our maintainers can start taking care of the issue.

Rudolf, many thanks again for reporting this issue. Please note that this issue is triggered when -disabling- desktop effect, and not when activating it ;-)

Regards.
