Description David Nielson 2009-10-04 16:01:39 UTC
Ardour3 has, for a long time, required version 1.0.18 of libsndfile
(which has been out for a while now.) Ardour2 recently started requiring
it if you're going to build it yourself. Fedora is still offering 1.0.17
in its repositories, though libsndfile is up to 1.0.20 now. Can Fedora please move up to the newest version?

It's available from "a somewhat inobvious link" near the bottom of this page: http://www.mega-nerd.com/libsndfile/

I need to add that I had to disable libsndfile support of mscore (MuseScore) to make it build on F-10 and F-11. mscore needs libsndfile >=1.0.19. Disabling this made us lose important functionality.

I too would like to have libsndfile updated in F-11, and if possible, in F-10.

Comment 2 Andreas Thienemann 2009-10-05 08:28:16 UTC
F11 and rawhide should be doable, F10 have to take a look. How long before EOL?

Comment 3 Orcan Ogetbil 2009-10-05 09:47:08 UTC
roughly 65 days.

Comment 4 Orcan Ogetbil 2009-10-14 22:22:47 UTC
Ping? Any progress? It shouldn't be too hard to copy things over from devel to F-11 in cvs.

Comment 8 Orcan Ogetbil 2009-11-14 11:02:39 UTC
As per the discussion in the devel list, I updated this package myself. Sorry, we couldn't wait any longer.

I also fixed some other bugs that were filed against libsndfile. e.g.
Bug 488362
Bug 515172
Bug 524507
+ some packaging issues
