I have a network printer which works perfectly - if it is on.
If I print to it when it is off, and then turn it on, the job never gets to the printer.

This is not the same behaviour as with me older usb-attached printer.

What type of network printer, and using which backend? What does 'lpstat -s' say about that queue?

Might be a duplicate of bug #528483.

HP printer. Backend? Not sure.

# lpstat -S

Small s:

$ lpstat -s
system default destination: Officejet_6500_E709a
device for Officejet_6500_E709a: hp:/net/Officejet_6500_E709a?ip=1.2.3.4

Comment 4 Tim Waugh 2009-10-22 10:50:59 UTC
OK, hp backend. I think this is a duplicate then.
