Are these cd's that you downloaded and burned yourself? I ordered the CD's from cheapbytes.com. I have used the same CD's to install RH7.1 on 4 other machines (with different hardware, of course) and had no problems. No, I did not download and burn them myself. I ordered the CD's from cheapbytes.com. I have used the same CD's to install RH7.1 on 4 other machines (with different hardware, of course) and had no problems. I'm going to change the component to the kernel since it appears this problem may be related to the Adaptec driver. When this bug was switched to kernel, I looked through the kernel bugs and saw the stuff about the experimental driver (aic7xxx_mod). I started the install with the noprobe option and selected the aic7xxx_mod driver, but unfortunately this didn't fix the problem. The installer locked up while formatting my partitions. Is there anything else I can do to help gather info on this? Thanks for the bug report. However, Red Hat no longer maintains this version of the product. Please upgrade to the latest version and open a new bug if the problem persists. The Fedora Legacy project (http://fedoralegacy.org/) maintains some older releases, and if you believe this bug is interesting to them, please report the problem in the bug tracker at: http://bugzilla.fedora.us/ |
