If I start the computer - which is rare now, since suspend/resume works - the swirling hourglass indicates that something is taking far too long. First it takes too long to display the face browser after switching to X, then it takes too long to select the user and for gdm to pass control to gnome. Everything is slow and unresponsive. Moving the mouse is laggy, it feels like the computer is about to die.

I realise this was raised on the mailing list and dismissed as "oh it's only a bit slow, it won't impact the F12 release", but it's not just a bit slow, it's SLOW :|
