Here's a little more information. After filing this bug, I decided that I had better reboot to get the kernel driver back in shape. I managed to logout (tricky, that), only to be greeted by 2 black monitors, both saying "no signal". I forced a reboot. There is nothing of note in /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old, although I've saved a copy if you want to see it. In /var/log/messages, I see a ton of these: Dec 17 11:28:40 153-10-10-10 kernel: [drm] nouveau 0000:04:00.0: no space while unhiding cursor but that's the first one, and it's a full 10 minutes after the mouse pointer disappeared. Interspersed in those are a few of these: Dec 17 11:43:06 153-10-10-10 kernel: [drm:drm_crtc_helper_set_config] *ERROR* failed to set mode on crtc ffff880223aca800 and one of these: Dec 17 11:43:06 153-10-10-10 kernel: [drm] nouveau 0000:04:00.0: Allocating FIFO number 2 Dec 17 11:43:06 153-10-10-10 kernel: [drm] nouveau 0000:04:00.0: nouveau_channel_alloc: initialised FIFO 2 Dec 17 11:43:06 153-10-10-10 kernel: [drm:drm_mode_getfb] *ERROR* invalid framebuffer id and it looks like this is what happened when I logged out: Dec 17 11:43:08 153-10-10-10 kernel: [drm] nouveau 0000:04:00.0: no space while disconnecting DAC The symptoms are the same as #537065, marking as a dup. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 537065 *** |
