cat /var/log/messages
cat /var/log/messages, after the modem has been plugged-in
Can I have do a bit of debugging? If you could do the following, that woudl be great. Open a terminal, get root with 'su', and: service NetworkManager stop killall -TERM modem-manager modem-manager --debug and then plug in the modem. Wait for a bit (maybe a minute or two) and then grab the modem-manager output, and attach it to this bug. Thanks! Created attachment 381738 [details]
modem-manager --debug
Hi Dan,
here comes the output of modem-manager --debug
Regards
Enrico
Thanks; the +ZPSTM was confusing MM a bit. I've fixed that upstream (commit 4cb58b8f5f373f5717005a5216d1b4ee8802839c). Do you by chance have a PIN enabled on the device? Yes, I've the PIN enabled on the device. Regards Enrico Ok, we've fixed that now in a branch upstream in modem-manager. I'll be integrating that branch right after the modem-manager 0.3 release, and it should allow your device to be correctly detected. So it shouldn't be long before this issue is fixed. The upstream bug report for that detection issue is: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=604369 if you'd like to track progress on it. Ok, the specific issue of the ZTE MF628/MT503HS not responding to probe requests with a PIN enabled has been fixed upstream and should get into Fedora builds soon. For your reference the upstream bug is: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=604369 and the upstream branch with the fix is: http://cgit.freedesktop.org/ModemManager/ModemManager/log/?h=probe-cpin ModemManager-0.3-1.git20100119.fc12 has been submitted as an update for Fedora 12. http://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/ModemManager-0.3-1.git20100119.fc12 Many thanks Dan, In the meanwhile, I disabled the PIN code in the SIM device and everything is OK. I'll be back as soon I'll have the chance to check the package update with the PIN enabled. Regards Enrico ModemManager-0.3-1.git20100119.fc12 has been pushed to the Fedora 12 testing repository. If problems still persist, please make note of it in this bug report. If you want to test the update, you can install it with su -c 'yum --enablerepo=updates-testing update ModemManager'. You can provide feedback for this update here: http://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/F12/FEDORA-2010-0847 I've just tried the package in the testing repo: now the modem is correctly identified even with the PIN enabled but i cannot connect with NetworkManager. It seems that NM cannot pass the PIN code to the device ModemManager-0.3-1.git20100119.fc12 has been pushed to the Fedora 12 stable repository. If problems still persist, please make note of it in this bug report. |
