Description M J 2010-01-29 06:50:11 UTC
Summary:

SELinux is preventing /usr/bin/metacity "write" access on /var/run/pulse/native.

Detailed Description:

SELinux denied access requested by metacity. It is not expected that this access
is required by metacity and this access may signal an intrusion attempt. It is
also possible that the specific version or configuration of the application is
causing it to require additional access.

Allowing Access:

You can generate a local policy module to allow this access - see FAQ
(http://docs.fedoraproject.org/selinux-faq-fc5/#id2961385) Please file a bug
report.

allow xdm_t var_run_t:sock_file write;

Comment 1 Daniel Walsh 2010-01-29 14:11:12 UTC
Something strange is going on here? Why is xdm_t running metacity?

Comment 2 Ray Strode [halfline] 2010-01-29 17:49:38 UTC
the login screen needs a window manager. It's metacity by default.

Comment 3 Daniel Walsh 2010-02-01 16:03:51 UTC
Is /var/run/pulse/native  something new?

I do not have it on my machines?
