Currently the package is located at http://buildsys.fedoraproject.org/buildgroups/rhel5/i386/ which is an unsigned repository.

This package is EPEL-5 only.

This looks to be the wrong format.

error: unpacking of archive failed on file /usr/src/redhat/SPECS/buildsys-macros.spec;4b8e3c9c: cpio: MD5 sum mismatch

Can you resupply with by building with rpmbuild-md5

Done. Thx for introducing me to rpmbuild-md5. I just replaced the old src.rpm, since there were not other changes:

After trying to find someone involved with EPEL to review this, I got this on IRC:

[12:41] <abadger1999> dgilmore: is buildsys-macros something that you don't want in the repo?
[12:42] <dgilmore> abadger1999: id prefer it not be
[12:42] <abadger1999> dgilmore: okay.  what's the reasoning?
[12:44] <dgilmore> its a hack and not a real fix

So, I think this probably shouldn't be reviewed at this point until that issue is worked out.

I can now safely assume that this will never work out after years of waiting and several attempts to get something. Since CentOS 6 will hopefully be available soon allowing me to stop contributing to EPEL 5 I capitulate.
