After trying to find someone involved with EPEL to review this, I got this on IRC: [12:41] <abadger1999> dgilmore: is buildsys-macros something that you don't want in the repo? [12:44] <dgilmore> its a hack and not a real fix So, I think this probably shouldn't be reviewed at this point until that issue is worked out.

I can now safely assume that this will never work out after years of waiting and several attempts to get something. Since CentOS 6 will hopefully be available soon allowing me to stop contributing to EPEL 5 I capitulate.
