This request was evaluated by Red Hat Product Management for inclusion in a Red
Hat Enterprise Linux maintenance release.  Product Management has requested
further review of this request by Red Hat Engineering, for potential
inclusion in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux Update release for currently deployed
products.  This request is not yet committed for inclusion in an Update
release.

Can we please get the BZ updated with some steps to reproduce the problem?

1. Find a mlx4 nic
2. Test the speed of the connection, using netperf. v_1
3. Set up a private vlan on the mlx4 card.
4. Test the speed of vlan, using netperf. v_2

You'll see that when using vlans, the throughput of the connection is about %85 slower. With the patch this is a reduction of %15 or something similar. You should be getting close to line speed without the vlan on top.
