Description of problem:
When desktop effects are enabled, there are some grafic artifact. For example items in menu can be easily selected, but sometimes they are not deselected when mouse lefts their position.

often

Steps to Reproduce:
1.enable desktop effects
2.rightclick on desktop
3.go up and down through items in pop-up menu - repeatedly more times
  
Actual results:
artifacts - multiple lines looks like selected

Expected results:
no artifacts

sometimes even after clicking on some link in firefox does not draw new page untill I move  page up/down. And now, when typing I see two cursors and don't see last typed character, but it happend after suspend/resume, so can't tell if it is caused only by desktop effects.

Yes, unless I'm seeing several similar bugs at once, this is definitely bug 577142. See the pictures I'm attaching to it.
