So the issue to me here is the stacktrace we should not be throwing. Having the rediscovery process executely quickly is a nice to have, but not a blocker I know it's not a realtime system, but when do we tell our users that? As far as I know, we don't tell them. We really should include things in our confirmation messages like "Alert Templates may take several minutes to be applied to existing resources" or "Uninventoried platforms may take several minutes to be available to re-import". So each bizarre behavior like this that we allow to sneak in to the product, I think just lowers it's overall quality (or at least, its perceived quality, which is all that matters anyway). Verified on RHQ-Master build #517 Steps: 1. Take a platform into inventory 2. On the Resource Browser's platform tab, uninventory the platform 3. Go to the Autodiscovery page Observation: The platform is available to import with-in 1/2 sec. as it has been in the past. There is no error/exception in server/agent log during platform inventor and uninventory. Bulk closing of issues that were VERIFIED, had no target release and where the status changed more than a year ago. |
