Description ptekverk 2010-04-29 03:01:28 UTC
Description of problem: please repackage/redistribute kernel-debuginfo-common-i686-2.6.32-19.el6.i686.rpm as kernel-debuginfo-common-2.6.32-19.el6.i686.rpm stap-prep requests the latter; the "-i386" is extraneous... the rpm content is OK as-is so far...
Comment 1 ptekverk 2010-04-29 03:02:23 UTC
clarification: the first occurrence of "-i686" is extraneous in the rpm name

Problem is: you may have a x86_64 system with multiple debuginfo packages, even from other architectures. debuginfo packages depend on debuginfo-common. If the architecture is removed, the dependency would break, since any debuginfo-common would do.

It has been denied for the current Red Hat Enterprise Linux release. ** If you would still like this issue considered for the current release, ask your support representative to file as a blocker on your behalf. Otherwise ask that it be considered for the next Red Hat Enterprise Linux release. **
