FYI - hibernate works flawlessly. Looks like problem with vbetool/video BIOS. Could you provide output of lsmod? Please also try with various video quirks, the list of quirks is available from /usr/lib/pm-utils/bin/pm-action --help This request was evaluated by Red Hat Product Management for inclusion in the current release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Because the affected component is not scheduled to be updated in the current release, Red Hat is unfortunately unable to address this request at this time. Red Hat invites you to ask your support representative to propose this request, if appropriate and relevant, in the next release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Created attachment 438458 [details]
lsmod
Sorry for the late response. Quirks: -dpms-on -> no change -dpms-suspend -> no change -radeon-off / s3-bios / s3-mode -> haven't tried (does it apply to nVidia?) -vbe-post -> half success! External monitor came up, notebook display is still "dead". But better then nothing :) also tried -vbemode-restore/vbestate-restore/vga-mode3 -> no change. Does VT switch (ALT + [CTRL] + NUMs) help? Or is the display completely dead? Completely dead, dead black. Thanks for info, please provide sosreport and output of lshal. Created attachment 468887 [details]
lshal
lshal attached.
Booted to runlevel 5, CTRL+ALT+F1, login as root. lshal > $log.
I've XXXX-ed out a couple of the serial numbers. In the unlikely case they are needed and should make a difference please let me know.
