dump from anaconda fault
How did you boot into the installation of this system? The installation was started from CD, which was a 7.2 ISO image that was downloaded and cooked into bootable media. This media was used on several other workstation installations, but this was the first laptop attempt. During installation, I did not select 'laptop' for installation type, but rather 'custom'. There are errors decompressing from the stage2 as well as errors mentioned regarding reading from the CD. Is this a burned CD? If so, does the cdrom drive in this laptop generally do well with burned cds (mine I know doesn't :-) Yes, this is a burned CD from a downloaded ISO. While I'm careful to keep them clean and it's never had a problem before, between the errors you found in the dump data, your experience with your CD drive and the fact that I couldn't reproduce it, it seems likely that it was a fluke between the CD and the drive. I appreciate your time to diagnose. :) |
