Description of problem:
The remote and the lirc_serial module doesn't have any funktion with kernel-2.6.35-0.57.rc6.git5.fc14.x86_64 in fc14.
I think the problem is that lirc are now in the staging kernel path, because lirc doesn't have make any problems since 3 years.
Pls help me and thx for it.

How reproducible:
After fc14 is started i started 'irw' in a termial and pressed a button.
But i don't see  a reation of button-pressed in the terminal and i get no error message.
I started the lir_serial module with this  3 lines in my rc.local.
/usr/sbin/lircd -d /dev/lirc0
setserial /dev/ttyS0 uart none
modprobe lirc_serial
At this point i get no error message!

Yeah, I need to push an updated lirc userspace to deal with some ioctl interface changes that exist in the upstreamed lirc.h. Will try to get that done today.

The above should work with all F14 lirc drivers. Was delayed a bit due to build failures, the root cause of which has yet to be fixed (working around a parallel make issue by simply doing a single-threaded build right now).

I've tested the the new lirc rpm,..... and the lirc_serial modul works fine under fc14 :-)

lirc-0.8.7-0.1.pre2.fc14 has been pushed to the Fedora 14 testing repository.  If problems still persist, please make note of it in this bug report.
 If you want to test the update, you can install it with
