Description of problem: The remote and the lirc_serial module doesn't have any funktion with kernel-2.6.35-0.57.rc6.git5.fc14.x86_64 in fc14. I think the problem is that lirc are now in the staging kernel path, because lirc doesn't have make any problems since 3 years. Pls help me and thx for it. If you need more info give me a reply. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): lirc-0.8.6-5.fc14.x86_64 kernel-2.6.35-0.57.rc6.git5.fc14.x86_64 How reproducible: After fc14 is started i started 'irw' in a termial and pressed a button. But i don't see a reation of button-pressed in the terminal and i get no error message. I started the lir_serial module with this 3 lines in my rc.local. /usr/sbin/lircd -d /dev/lirc0 setserial /dev/ttyS0 uart none modprobe lirc_serial At this point i get no error message! Yeah, I need to push an updated lirc userspace to deal with some ioctl interface changes that exist in the upstreamed lirc.h. Will try to get that done today.
lirc-0.8.7-0.1.pre2.fc14 has been submitted as an update for Fedora 14. http://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/lirc-0.8.7-0.1.pre2.fc14
The above should work with all F14 lirc drivers. Was delayed a bit due to build failures, the root cause of which has yet to be fixed (working around a parallel make issue by simply doing a single-threaded build right now).
I've tested the the new lirc rpm,..... and the lirc_serial modul works fine under fc14 :-) Thx for your work.
