Deferring to 6.2. We don't understand why this happens (likely to be a kernel issue if anything) and we have no upstream fix for it at present. Deferring to 6.3, since no customer or user has raised the issue. It's still highly likely that this is a kernel bug. reported to LKML: https://lkml.org/lkml/2011/12/28/181 Thanks, -Wanlong Gao I don't think we have any kind of solution for this bug yet, so I am deferring it again to 6.4. This request was not resolved in time for the current release. Red Hat invites you to ask your support representative to propose this request, if still desired, for consideration in the next release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux. This request was erroneously removed from consideration in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4, which is currently under development. This request will be evaluated for inclusion in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4. Still don't believe there is any kernel solution for this (it's a kernel bug, nothing to do with libguestfs). Deferring to RHEL 6.5. I'm closing this as WONTFIX since: - No customer reported it. - It's in a very rarely used API. - It's trivial to work around it. - It's a kernel bug. - There is no fix for it. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1002825 sheds more light on this issue. Reopening. We should deprecate these calls and document that they never worked. Verified it by checking documentation. version: libguestfs-1.20.11-8.el6.x86_64 Since the problem described in this bug report should be resolved in a recent advisory, it has been closed with a resolution of ERRATA. For information on the advisory, and where to find the updated files, follow the link below. If the solution does not work for you, open a new bug report. http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHBA-2014-1458.html |
