I'm experiencing the same problem in Fedora 13 as of package version 0.8.1-4.git20100817.fc13.x86_64. Whenever NM acquire and address or configure it statically it resets the /etc/hosts loopback line to default. If you put your additional entries on separate 127.0.0.1 lines, NM will not touch them. At this time NM only touches 127.0.0.1 lines that contain "localhost" or "localhost6". This is a change in behavior, though. Why should it care whether it's on a separate line or not? (Also, NM is now resetting my hostname to localhost.localdomain, which is pretty annoying.)
