Description Jon Masters 2010-09-07 21:13:00 UTC
Description of problem:

Creating a static network connection using NetworkManager during installation does not result in a persistent connection after installation. The connection is no longer listed and has to be recreated. The name of the connection in this case was "rawhide.bos.jonmasters.org", which worked fine post-install once it was created again.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

Anaconda in F-14 alpha x86_64 media.

How reproducible:

Seems likely to be an every time thing.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start install, hit "Advanced" during network configuration
2. Configure the network with an NM managed connection
3. Connection disappears after the installation

Actual results:

A non-working network connection

Expected results:

A working network connection

This seems like dupe of bug #620823, but to be sure can you post /var/log/anaconda.log and /var/log/anaconda.syslog? Also /tmp/ifcfg.log gathered at the end of installation or post-installation /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth* would be helpful. What do you mean by "Advanced" (during network configuration)?

Attached the files you wanted. I think "Advanced" might these days say something else. It's the button that opens the NM connection editor dialog.

Thanks for the logs, the bug should be fixed in F14 Beta.
