If you install using the 3CXFE575BT, does the 3CCE589EC work after installing? Sorry for the slow reply. I don't have regular access to the laptop. I "can-not" install skipjack-b2 using the 3CXFE575BT. I installed RedHat 6.2 using the 3CXFE575BT just to verify the the card hardware was good. After loading skipjack using the 3CCE589EC, inserting the 3CXFE575BT hangs the system. I have not found anyway to get debugging information from the yenta_socket driver to assist in finding the problem. I tried disabling serial and usb devices in the BIOS to free up resources and I tried the latest 2.4.19-pre7-ac3 kernel. No luck, and I'm losing the laptop again. Sounds like a kernel problem, but without more concrete information on working with current kernels, there's probably not much Arjan can do. Using kernel UNI i686 .95 kernel from rawhide on the limbo public beta I'm seeing yenta socket hangs during boot. If I remove pcmcia from the init.d start up I can boot and then issue: /sbin/service pcmcia start Ctrl-C to kill the hang /sbin/service pcmcia stop /sbing/service pcmcia start to get my pcmcia working. I had no troubles with hangs during install. Thanks for the bug report. However, Red Hat no longer maintains this version of the product. Please upgrade to the latest version and open a new bug if the problem persists. The Fedora Legacy project (http://fedoralegacy.org/) maintains some older releases, and if you believe this bug is interesting to them, please report the problem in the bug tracker at: http://bugzilla.fedora.us/ |
