It's supposed to be built against libindi, but the kdeedu-4.4.5 build log has this: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- -- The following OPTIONAL packages could NOT be located on your system. -- Consider installing them to enable more features from this software. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- [snip] * libindi (0.6 or higher) <http://indi.sf.net> A framework for controlling astronomical devices such as telescopes, CCDs, filter wheels..etc. Gives KStars support for controlling astronomical devices. but the root.log has: libindi-devel i686 0.6-11.fc13 build 19 k libindi i686 0.6-11.fc13 build 324 k so I don't know what went wrong (maybe it's actually checking for 0.6.1?). We really need to make a habit of checking the build.log files for missing dependencies, it's unacceptable to push things with missing features (it's also a regression in the updates). (FWIW, this is fixed in the 4.5.2 packages.) (In reply to comment #1) > We really need to make a habit of checking the build.log files for missing > dependencies, it's unacceptable to push things with missing features (it's also > a regression in the updates). It could be easy script, I'll add it as topic for next KDE SIG meeting. This is really not a good situation - we miss features, even it leads to regressions. Will I see a working kstars in Fedora (13?) any time soon or do I have to switch Linux distribution for a while? // The Fedora astronomer with the problem Soon (I'd say within a week) kdeedu-4.4.5-2.fc13 has been submitted as an update for Fedora 13. https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/kdeedu-4.4.5-2.fc13 kdeedu-4.4.5-2.fc12 has been submitted as an update for Fedora 12. https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/kdeedu-4.4.5-2.fc12 kdeedu-4.4.5-2.fc13 has been pushed to the Fedora 13 testing repository.
