Description Steve Joiner 1999-10-28 01:53:24 UTC
After installing 6.1, I enabled ypserv and ypbind as normal
to setup my machine as an NIS server. Now, when I reboot,
everything seems fine until the last step of initialization
"starting linuxconf" which seems to take a long time to
finish. After that, the machine slows to a crawl. Logging
in takes a minute or so during which I get the message:

yp_all: clnt_call: RPC: Timed out

Try restarting ypbind.

Comment 2 Bill Nottingham 1999-10-29 15:12:59 UTC
Hmm... is portmap running?
Also, are you using yourself as a ypserver?

Comment 3 Bill Nottingham 1999-10-29 15:16:59 UTC
(also, are you using the errata ypserv?)
