The 40GB Maxtor is model number 4D040H2 The 13GB Maxtor is model number 91303D6 Does booting with "ide=nodma" help? well, that worked.. don't know why... as I could have DMA mode on with RH 7.2.. and I need DMA support so that DVD playing will work... I tried setting the USE_DMA=1 in the /etc/sysconfig/harddisks file and with the ide=nodma option it boots through the kernel but stopps later in the boot process when starting various services.. Thanks for the bug report. However, Red Hat no longer maintains this version of the product. Please upgrade to the latest version and open a new bug if the problem persists. The Fedora Legacy project (http://fedoralegacy.org/) maintains some older releases, and if you believe this bug is interesting to them, please report the problem in the bug tracker at: http://bugzilla.fedora.us/ |
