Description Martin Stransky 2011-01-26 15:15:24 UTC
Description of problem:
Not sure it's the right component but kernel downgrade helped.

X window (the session) does not start with kernel 2.6.38-0.rc2.git0.1.fc15.i686.PAE, I have a disco on my LCD. gdm seems to work fine but it starts flickering after login.
2.6.37-2.fc15.i686.PAE works fine. Hw is lenovo x201 with i5/IntelGFX.

Can you try 2.6.38-rc3 when it becomes available tomorrow?

Comment 2 Chuck Ebbert 2011-02-07 14:14:26 UTC
Please try the latest rawhide kernel.

Comment 3 Martin Stransky 2011-02-10 07:45:43 UTC
It's still broken with 2.6.38-0.rc3.git4.1.fc15.i686.PAE.

Comment 4 Martin Stransky 2011-02-11 07:24:29 UTC
Just to be clear - it appears only on an external LCD monitor connected via VGA cable. Build-in laptop display is ok.

Thanks for the bug report. We have reviewed the information you have provided above, and there is some additional information we require that will be helpful in our diagnosis of this issue.

Please add drm.debug=0x04 to the kernel command line, restart computer, and attach

* your X server config file (/etc/X11/xorg.conf, if available),
* X server log file (/var/log/Xorg.*.log)
* output of the dmesg command

to the bug report as individual uncompressed file attachments using the bugzilla file attachment link above.

We will review this issue again once you've had a chance to attach this information.

Thanks in advance.
