Description Neil Horman 2011-03-10 20:31:28 UTC
Description of problem:
Need to backport the common vpd commits from these upstream commits:
4067a8541d397e9d6b443dd2ce0ecb78bfd991db
e1d5bdabb94da89bdb3c3f2ee105cf61fca88ec8
b55ac1b22690d2e5b02a61cf6d69c2d66969c79d
7ad506fa1adc2da3d394c562f09b8e1b3026c402
a2ce766238f72ff7337606c0bc96803c30c9e05c

They are common to getting tg3 and bnx2 and usefull in reducing duplicated code in their vpd managment.

Test build to validate backports

Comment 2 Jarod Wilson 2011-03-21 16:10:59 UTC
These bits are necessary for a number of 5.7 network driver updates, flag bz accordingly.

Comment 3 RHEL Program Management 2011-03-21 16:29:09 UTC

release.

Comment 6 Jarod Wilson 2011-03-25 18:52:24 UTC
Patch(es) available in kernel-2.6.18-251.el5
Detailed testing feedback is always welcomed.

Comment 11 Neil Horman 2011-06-28 13:37:56 UTC
yeah, then everything is fine, it just means that particular card does have vpd that can be read. This change doesn't 'fix' anything explicitly, it just makes backporting upstream code easier as we move forward. You should just mark this as SanityOnly or some such.
