1. Feature Overview:
Feature Id: [71038]
a. Name of Feature: [6.2 FEAT] virt-manager: include 802.1Qbg support
b. Feature Description
Commit ababf7acec29191179a597e7349a9c4ce55492a6 to the virt-manager git adds the following feature:
editting virtualport settings for 'direct' nic. This patch adds support for VSI types so the
respective values can be viewed and edited via virt-manager

2. Feature Details:
Sponsor: LTC
Architectures: x86_64,
Arch Specificity: both
Affects Kernel Modules: No
Delivery Mechanism: Direct from Community
Category: other
Request Type: Package - Feature from Upstream
d. Upstream Acceptance: Accepted
Sponsor Priority P3
f. Severity: normal
IBM Confidential: No
Code Contribution: unsure
g. Component Version Target: ---

3. Business Case
This feature allows the use of virt-manager in a Qbg enabled environment and to explore Qbg
possibilities.
The alternative is to use virsh to edit VSI types in the domain xml, which is inconvenient for the user.

Comment 2 RHEL Program Management 2011-04-05 19:43:59 UTC
Since RHEL 6.1 External Beta has begun, and this bug remains
unresolved, it has been rejected as it is not proposed as
exception or blocker.

Red Hat invites you to ask your support representative to
propose this request, if appropriate and relevant, in the
next release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

Comment 3 Cole Robinson 2011-04-07 17:03:43 UTC
As mentioned, this is already upstream, but probably warrants a rebase for 6.2

For clarification, does above statement mean virt-manager will be rebased for 6.2?
If yes, to which level?

Comment 6 Cole Robinson 2011-05-10 17:50:59 UTC
Not official yet, but I'm almost positive virt-manager will be rebased in 6.2, probably to a version that hasn't been released yet.
