I was trying to enable HDMI video out in my HP DV5-1199el notebook, with nVidia Geforce 9600M GT.
The output does not work but after several unsuccessful tests, control center crashed.

I connected a VGA cable to the VGA port of the notebook and tweaked the settings in gnome-settings / displays. This worked fine. I closed it then and re-opened it and this time it crashed.

Opened laptop lid, bringing it back from sleep and then clicked the display settings to bring the rotation back to normal. Settings window crashed before showing the display settings.

I was just going through the settings, trying to get better acquainted with the new system. I'm not sure exactly what I did to cause the app to crash.

Installed Fedora 15 in VirtualBox. Intalled Guest Additions, rebooted. Started control centre. Using the VirtualBox menu, select Auto-Resize Guest Display which switched the resolution from 1024x768 to 1680x947, causing the crash.

I can't remember the details, but I was changing screen settings and additionally replaced my primary monitor and added a secondary one (as in "fiddled with the cables plugged into my PC").

1. Exited a game which left screen in 640x480 mode (Alien Blaster?)
2. Blundered through Gnome 3 "Displays" dialog to set 1920x1200. Several iterations of choosing 1920x1200 and then tabbing once, twice, thrice and pressing Enter, since I couldn't see the "apply" button.
3. Screen changed joyously to 1920x1200
4. A few seconds later, crash notification appeared

Comment 23 Fedora End Of Life 2012-08-07 15:43:47 UTC
This message is a notice that Fedora 15 is now at end of life. Fedora
has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 15. It is
Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no
longer maintained. At this time, all open bugs with a Fedora 'version'
of '15' have been closed as WONTFIX.

(Please note: Our normal process is to give advanced warning of this
occurring, but we forgot to do that. A thousand apologies.)

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, feel free to reopen
this bug and simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we were unable to fix it before Fedora 15 reached end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on
"Clone This Bug" (top right of this page) and open it against that
version of Fedora.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
