How to reproduce
-----
1.connect external monitor
2.open display settings gui
3.change external monitor to primary display

This crash occured by connecting an external monitor through VGA to my laptop.  The monitor was detected and auto-extended the display but I tried to make the external monitor the primary display through the Display gui and this crash occured.

Works fine for me with 3.0.x

Are you still seeing crashes like this ?

As far as I remember the circumstances of the crash, it's working fine now.
