Fixes rh#700229 I have no idea why GTK has started to crash when we pass it an invalid window, but it's probably not a good idea to rely on the broken functionality. Was not using yum, etc. Package: gnome-packagekit-3.2.1-1.fc16 Architecture: x86_64 OS Release: Fedora release 16 (Verne) Comment ----- Don't know what event is associated with crash. Richard, should this still be happening in gnome-packagekit-3.2.1-1.fc16.x86_64? Just wondering why, if the fix was committed last May, I still get this 3 or 4 times a day in a gnome-packagekit release that was made several months after that commit. Indeed, in /usr/share/doc/gnome-packagekit-3.2.1/NEWS, I see this under the "Bugfix" category for version 3.1.90: - Never set a window title if the dialog has no parent (Richard Hughes) So maybe this is a different bug, although the backtrace looks the same to me. I'm getting it in this function (gpk-x11.c, line 75): /** * gpk_x11_set_window: **/ gboolean gpk_x11_set_window (GpkX11 *x11, GdkWindow *window) { g_return_val_if_fail (GPK_IS_X11 (x11), FALSE); /* save the x state */ x11->priv->display = GDK_DISPLAY_XDISPLAY (x11->priv->gdk_display); x11->priv->window = GDK_WINDOW_XID (window); return TRUE; } The window parameter is NULL when this crash occurs.
