Description of problem:
The current binutils in F15 and rawhide will not build seabios.  Fairly detailed discussion is available:

This is fairly critical because we need to update seabios for F15 and F16.

Rediff of patches from upstream

This attachment is a rediff of the patches listed in:

http://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=12726#c5

to apply cleanly to Fedora 15 binutils.

With this patch applied it is finally possible to build SEABIOS again. Please can we get this into F15 updates as soon as possible, since this is a major show stopping bug for providing virtualization updates.

Hi Daniel,

  Thanks for the patch.  I have added it to the F15 binutils package.  Please try  binutils-2.21.51.0.6-6.fc15  and let me know if you still have any problems.

Thankyou for the quick response, I have tested  binutils-2.21.51.0.6-6.fc15  and it can successfully build Seabios.

Thank you, this update does successfully build seabios.  The seabios update has been committed for f16, and will build for f15 when binutils has been updated there.

  binutils-2.21.51.0.6-6.fc15 has now been pushed to stable.
