Description of problem:
Installation of freetype-devel was failed by yum on Fedora 15 x86_64.

1. gain root access
2. yum install freetype-devel
3. check results

This is not a bug. You are trying to mix different versions of freetype on one system (I mean different NVRs, not architectures). Try to downgrade the i686 freetype or update the x86_64 to have the same version for both.
If you think that this should be done automatically then file a bug against yum.
