Description of problem:

SASL section in ldap.conf(5) manpage is incomplete. It misses SASL_NOCANON option, maybe some more.

Additional info:

ldap_set_option(3) seems to be up to date.

* should fix your issue,
* was pushed to the Fedora 17 testing repository,
* should be available at your local mirror within two days.
Update it with:
# su -c 'yum update --enablerepo=updates-testing openldap-2.4.30-1.fc17'
as soon as you are able to.
