There is a known issue about netconsole does not support in vlan network in 5.5. (http://docs.redhat.com/docs/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Virtualization_for_Servers/2.2/html/5.5-2.2_Hypervisor_Release_Notes/sect-Release_Notes-Known_Issues.html) But I can see the output on netconsole server after configure netconsole in 5.7(see attached file "nc"), so I don't think that know issue still exists in 5.7. after configure netconsole, please reboot twice if did not met the hang issue at the first time. It not regression bug , test on 5.7-20110824.0 and 5.7-20110725.1, both can reproduce this issue. The same issue occurs in rhev-hypervisor-5.8-20111019.0.el5. |
Created attachment 520997 [details] ifcfg-*, screenshot, nc output Description of problem: Configure netconsole in vlan network, reboot rhevh got hang at shutdown the vlan sub-interface (eth0.20). repeat the error: "unregister_netdevice: waiting for rhevm to become free. Usage count =1". Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): rhev-hypervisor-5.7-20110831 How reproducible: Always. Steps to reproduce: 1. install rhevh and configure netconsole. 2. after boot into rhevh and reboot Actual results: 1. it hang at shutdown the vlan sub-interface. Expected results: 1. reboot successfully. Additional info: Sometimes, after configure netconsole and reboot the os, it repeated reboot automatically.
