Description of problem:
In Fedora 16 Beta Release, on running vim in a terminal, a number of messages regarding perl support template (see additional info) gets displayed. The user can start using vim only after scrolling through all the messages. If gvim is ran from the terminal then the messages obviously gets displayed in the terminal and the graphical window of gvim is readily available for usage.

1. Open a terminal
2. Run vim or gvim from it

Actual results:
vim opens with a lot of messages regarding perl support template with the user having to scroll through it to start using it. 

Expected results:
vim and gvim opening without these messages.

I already noticed the problem myself and reported it upstream. I was half expecting a new release to come fairly soon, but I'll patch the current version and release an update later today.

vim-perl-support-4.13-2.fc16 has been submitted as an update for Fedora 16.

* should fix your issue,
* was pushed to the Fedora 16 testing repository,
* should be available at your local mirror within two days.
Update it with:

as soon as you are able to.

vim-perl-support-4.13-2.fc16 has been pushed to the Fedora 16 stable repository.  If problems still persist, please make note of it in this bug report.
