Description Simon Andrews 2011-11-17 09:12:53 UTC
Description of problem:

The nightly yum-cron job has started producing output after every successful run, meaning that I'm getting unnecessary emails from every machine every night. Cron output is intended to be for errors, and should be silent if everything worked.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

yum-cron-3.4.3-5.fc16.noarch
yum-3.4.3-5.fc16.noarch

How reproducible:

Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set up yum-cron job
2. Wait for cron to run
3. Cron output email is delivered

Actual results:

Email from yum-cron:

/etc/cron.daily/0yum.cron:

Setting up Update Process
Setting up Yum Shell
Setting up Update Process

Expected results:

No output upon success.

Additional info:

rpm -V yum-cron gives no output so this happens with default values.
