Description of problem:
Short: Removing kudzu means removing UTF-8 support for boot messages.

Longer: I used redhat-config-services to remove kudzu from startup and after 
that several (translated) initscript messages were displayed wrongly. Re-adding 
kudzu everyone looked fine again.

Theory: the kudzu script executes the lang.sh script which checks in i18n for 
the correct sysfont. Without kudzu in the startup lang.sh never gets executed 
and the correct sysfont never gets set.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use another language than English
2. Remove kudzu from the startup
3. Watch for umlauts
