You need to call Gtk.init(null, null) before using GTK+ functions. (I agree this isn't the greatest failure mode. The problem with really improving it is that there's no way to throw exceptions from arbitrary GTK+ functions that propagate back as GTK+ exceptions ... only functions that take a GError * can throw a GTK+ exceptions.) |
