From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.0.1) Gecko/20021003

Description of problem:
When chatting with AOL 8 users I can't see their text. They can see my text. I
can see their emotocons :-), though.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.start gaim
2.click on a friend who is using aol 8.0
3.verify that you cannot see his text.

Actual Results: I could not see the AOL 8.0 user's text.

Expected Results: I should have seen text typed by aol 8.0 user

Additional info:
My fix...
1) download http://ruxi.ath.cx:443/download/gaim-0.60cvs-1.src.rpm
2) (as root) rpmbuild --rebuild gaim-0.60cvs-1.src.rpm
3) rpm -Uvh /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386/gaim-0.60cvs-1.i386.rpm
4) fixed link...the new gaim is in /usr/bin...I think RH puts it in /usr/lib.

In preferences if you click the checkbox that says "Ignore Font Faces" in the
Conversations pane, does this problem go away?

Comment 2 Christopher Blizzard 2002-11-11 19:01:43 UTC
This should have been fixed in rawhide. Based on the lack of feedback I'm
assuming this was the same problem.
