Description of problem:
When upgrading from 0.7.4.1-4.fc18 to 0.7.5-0.fc18, the upgrade will fail if ettercap-gtk is installed since ettercap-gtk-0.7.4.1-4.fc18 and ettercap-common-0.7.4.1-4.fc18 have file conflicts with ettercap-0.7.5-0.fc18.

Comment 1 Gwyn Ciesla 2012-09-06 15:41:54 UTC
It does.  From spec:

Obsoletes: ettercap-plugins < 0.7.3-15
Provides: ettercap-plugins = %{version}-%{release}
Obsoletes: ettercap-common < 0.7.4.1-4
Provides: ettercap-common = %{version}-%{release}
Obsoletes: ettercap-gtk < 0.7.4.1-4
Provides: ettercap-gtk = %{version}-%{release}

Comment 2 Bruno Wolff III 2012-09-06 15:59:15 UTC
Ah, it looks like the version tested against is wrong. 0.7.4.1-4 made it to at least updates-testing in f18. So the test should probably be against 0.7.4.1-5 or even 0.7.5.

Comment 3 Gwyn Ciesla 2012-09-06 16:08:44 UTC
Ah, I see, I should have used <=, not <, I'll just do < 0.7.5.  Thanks!

Comment 4 Bruno Wolff III 2012-09-06 16:14:18 UTC
Note for future reference, you need to be careful with <=. You need to include the fedora version since .fcXX is part of the release name. It's usually safer/easier to use < .

Comment 5 Gwyn Ciesla 2012-09-06 16:17:29 UTC
Right, I wasn't necessarily thinking < was better, just that I saw < and had <= in my head, and expressed that poorly.
