storage test patch to use udev for test planning (device detection) none

Description Greg Nichols 2012-09-19 14:20:49 UTC
Description of problem:

The storage test switched from HAL to UDisks in v7 1.6.4. It seems that this may not be the best approach, as UDisks is already being replaced with UDisks2 in Fedora and RHEL7. While both UDisks and UDisks2 can both be installed, it would be better not to have a dependancy on these packages.

udev appears sufficent for hardware detection, and seems more stable across Fedora and RHEL releases.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

v7 1.6.4 R2

Tested on RHEL7. The rpm dependancy on udisks should also be removed from v7's rpm spec.
