Description Ondrej Chaloupka 2012-09-25 12:39:30 UTC
Installation guide contains info that the customer should install mod_jk-ap20. But for EWS2 is this package obsolete and mod_jk-ap22 should be used.
http://documentation-devel.engineering.redhat.com/docs/en-US/JBoss_Enterprise_Web_Server/2/html/Installation_Guide/sec-Installing_EWS_from_RPM_Packages.html

To list of packages please add package for jsvc: apache-commons-daemon-jsvc-eap6
The jsvc is distributed in zip installation so it should be included in rpm distro as well.

There is package tomcat7-docs-webapp and not just tomcat6-docs-webapp. The info about existence of doc package for tomcat7 should be added.

Comment 1 Ondrej Chaloupka 2012-09-25 13:07:46 UTC
More packages are missing, I think. The list should contain as well:
- mod_cluster-tomcat7
- tomcat7-log4j

For reference, this will be changed as suggested in the following places:

* 2.3.1. RPM Packages
* Procedure 2.15. Installing Enterprise Web Server from RPM Packages (Step 2A)
* Procedure 2.19. Configuring mod_jk
 - Step 1
 - Step 2

I think this means that the jsvc package specified should be added here, so I'm doing that:

* Procedure 2.15. Installing Enterprise Web Server from RPM Packages
 - Step 2 A (comprehensive list of packages to install)

If this is incorrect, please set this bug back to ASSIGNED and clarify.

Added.

This bug will be set to ON_QA when the updated version of this document is available on the stage.

Comment 3 Ondrej Chaloupka 2012-10-05 06:33:10 UTC
Hi,
I'm returning the bz back to assigned.

- I haven't found info about jsvc package in 2.15/2A
- There are still missing information about packages for tomcat7: mod_cluster-tomcat7 and tomcat7-log4j

But this BZ could start to be irrelevant when dev/productization says that the supposed packages are not correct - bz: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=862827
In that case please reject this bz.

Thanks

This should be fixed now.

Making changes for now. Will contact Weinan or other relevant parties in case the information provided is wrong.

This jira is ok and I'm closing it.
Just I'm not sure about the documentation guide as a whole. It was just copied from EWS1 and we are doing there some changes. I don't know whether there shouldn't be some bigger rework of the installation steps.
