The current version of nautilus will not list xpdf among the applications available to open a PDF file with (and worse, it won't let you manually specify a command to run).

It turns out that it requires the application's .desktop file to specify that the command takes an argument, for instance:

Exec=xpdf %f

So it's probably worth putting that in, unless this is considered a bug in nautilus.

Package xpdf-3.03-5.fc18:
* should fix your issue,
* was pushed to the Fedora 18 testing repository,
* should be available at your local mirror within two days.
Update it with:
# su -c 'yum update --enablerepo=updates-testing xpdf-3.03-5.fc18'
as soon as you are able to.
