Description of problem: I've just installed Fedora 18 snapshot with just XFCE desktop and nothing else, and XFCE's start menu lacks applications' icons.

How reproducible:
No idea

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Fedora 18 snapshot from 20121122 with just XFCE and nothing else

Actual results: no icons in XFCE start menu

This is expected, as thats the default in 4.10. 

If you go to settings -> appearance -> settings -> show images in menus

and check that they should appear. 

We have been discussing about changing this default on the fedora xfce list, please join us there and add input. ;)

The defaults definitely should be changed - I don't just mean global settings in text files - I mean they have to be changed in the source code.

That is not true, see bug 863337.
