This request was not resolved in time for the current release. Red Hat invites you to ask your support representative to propose this request, if still desired, for consideration in the next release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Hyper-V kvp daemon is a very important function for the Hyper-V RHEL guest. The service should be running after the Hyper-V guest booting. Our custom met the similar problem and file a bug with RHEL5.9 guest. Bug 869809 - Hyper V KVP Daemon does not auto load on RHEL 5.9 I've gone ahead and changed hypervkvpd from optional to default in the virtualization group. <packagereq type='default'>hypervkvpd</packagereq> in @virtualization *** Bug 870152 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Since the problem described in this bug report should be resolved in a recent advisory, it has been closed with a resolution of ERRATA.
