Description Rostislav Svoboda 2013-02-07 10:57:42 UTC
I have several testcases in JBossWS CXF TS failing intermittently. This issue was introduced with latest JDK upgrade to SunJDK 1.6u38.

The same failures were spotted in upstream (https://issues.jboss.org/browse/AS7-6319) and Stuart Douglas did some investigation - http://lists.jboss.org/pipermail/jboss-as7-dev/2013-January/007509.html

Issue is related to HttpClient changes: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/2col/6u38-bugfixes-1880999.html

This must be documented in release notes.

Email sent to Stuart and Brian, requesting info:

"In the following BZ ticket Rostislav mentions that one of you can provide more information. Rostislav's requested that this issue be documented in the EAP 6.1.0 Release Notes but I have no text with which to work.

Can either of you provide me with sufficient information for the Release Notes? The Release Notes are to be completed by COB tomorrow, so this matter is urgent.

*Prompt* reply received with thanks from Brian:

"Stuart's message at [1] summarizes the JRE problem nicely:

The problem resulted in a number of failures of webservices tests, where
the webserviceas client-side code would ending up using the broken JRE
http client code. An actual application could experience the same
issues. An example can be seen in the description and comments of [2].
This was a general issue with the JRE though; it could manifest itself
other places that use the JRE facilities for an HTTP client. Webservices
is the most likely place though.

Stuart can provide the Oracle bug id. I believe it is fixed in a latest
JRE release.
