Description Kalev Lember 2013-05-02 20:41:22 UTC
libreport-gtk has recently started depending on recordmydesktop. Compared to F18, this now brings in a number of new deps to the F19 Desktop Live media, including another audio server, jack-audio-connection-kit.

GNOME Shell has built-in screen recording support and recordmydesktop pretty much duplicates that functionality. We are a bit space constrained on the live media, so it would be nice to get rid of extra deps that most users don't need, if possible.

When jmoskovc/adamw/elad661/me discussed this on IRC, it was pointed out that there have been complaints about the new recordmydesktop dep on fedoraforum.org. In the light of this, it might be best to make recordmydesktop a soft dep, as in install it by default through comps, but not have a hard Requires: recordmydesktop in libreport-gtk. Or perhaps install it on-demand through PackageḰit when someone actually needs to record the screen.
